Dr. Susan Perry is professor of political sciences and women’s/gender studies at the American University of Paris (AUP), France, and a specialist on China. She is the Chair of the Department of International and Comparative Politics and the Director of the graduate program in International Affairs at AUP. She taught in China as a Yale-China scholar and has published on Chinese politics and gender relations. She received an undergraduate degree from Brown University, a Master’s degree from Yale University, a law degree from Oxford University and a doctorate from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, France. She has founded many organizations including Women, Culture and Development Practices International, and The Rights Practice. She is a highly sought-after regular radio and television commentator. Her works include Eye to Eye: Women Practicing Development Across Cultures (2001) and Development Cultures: New Environments, New Realities, New Strategies (2004).
